The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced that visitors who have entered Qatar on a 30-day tourist visa on arrival and who wish to extend their stay for another 30 days must do so via a new online portal, rather than through the Airport Passports Department.

UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Indian Nationals Under 14-Day Visa on Arrival May Not Change Status

Effective immediately, Indian nationals holding a 14-day visa on arrival, issued on the basis of a valid US visa or Green Card, cannot change status to another visa type, such as a tourist, business or employment visa, while in the UAE.

Indian nationals in this situation who wish to change status need to exit and re-enter UAE with a tourist, employment or business visa.

TUNISIA – Expats in GCC Countries Now Eligible for Visa-on-Arrival

Effective immediately, foreign nationals holding residence visas from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries no longer require consular visas to enter Tunisia and are now eligible for visas-on-arrival valid for stays of up to 15 days. Visas-on-arrival are reportedly now available to GCC expats at all Tunisian airports and border crossings.

QATAR – Electronic Travel Authorisation for Holders of Certain Visas and Resident Permits

Effective 27 September 2017, Qatar will introduce a single-entry electronic travel authorisation, valid for 30 days and renewable once, for holders of valid visas or residence permits from the UK, the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Schengen countries or the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
