New Data in Immiguru: LUXEMBOURG – Residence Permit (Assignment from EEA/Switzerland)

We’re very pleased to announce that the Residence Permit (Assignment from EEA/Switzerland) process for Luxembourg has been added to Immiguru.

This process allows for the secondment of a foreign national who will remain on home country payroll and contract but is assigned by a company inside the EEA and Switzerland to the same company or a recipient of a service provision in Luxembourg for a determined period to execute a service provision.

Many thanks to our partner in Luxembourg, Osch & Arendt, for their help with this!

New Data in Immiguru: Portugal – Temporary Stay Visa (Highly Skilled Activities) and Van der Elst (Assignment From Within the EEA)

We’re very pleased to announce that two new immigration processes for Portugal have been added to Immiguru this week: The Temporary Stay Visa (Highly Skilled Activities) and the Van der Elst (Assignment From Within the EEA).

The temporary stay visa is intended to allow the holder to carry out a highly qualified activity, temporary or scientific research activity in a scientific research centre or teaching activities in a higher education institution.

The Van der Elst process allows a non-EEA (European Economic Area) national employee of a service provider in an EEA country to be sent to Portugal on short term assignment as a “posted worker”  without a work permit.

Many thanks to our partner in Portugal, CC Advogados for their help with this!

New Data in Immiguru: Netherlands – Van der Elst (Assignment From Within the EEA)

We’re very pleased to announce that the Van der Elst (Assignment From Within the EEA) process into the Netherlands was added to Immiguru today. This route into the Netherlands has become a more realistic option for companies in recent months, thanks to the landmark European Court of Justice ruling in September 2014 (ECJ Judgment 11 Sep. 2014 (C-91/13), Essent Energie Productie BV v. Minister van Sociale Zaken en Werkgelegenheid).

Find out more about Van der Elst immigration processes by accessing the slides and notes for our recent webinar on the subject here.

Many thanks to our partner in the Netherlands, Expat Management Group, for their help with this!

New Data in Immiguru: Hungary – Van der Elst (Assignment From Within the EEA)

We’re very pleased to announce that the Van der Elst (Assignment From Within the EEA) process into Hungary was added to Immiguru this week.

Van der Elst Webinar – Access our Slides and Notes Here

We were delighted to welcome more than 50 participants to our webinar yesterday on the Van der Elst ruling and how this interesting little immigration route is implemented (or isn’t!) in practice across Europe.  We also looked at the impact of the recent Essent Energie ruling from the European Court of Justice and the impact this is likely to have on companies sending service providers to the Netherlands and, potentially, within the wider EU.

Huge thanks to all our attendees (and thanks for all the positive feedback so far!)  and our speakers: Bernard Caris from Praetica in Belgium, Fiona Mougenot from Expat Partners in France, Claire Jacobs from Corporate Care in Ireland, Marco Mazzeschi from Mazzeschi in Italy, Mounia Jrabi from Sagardoy Abogados in Spain, Friederike Ruch from Convinus in Switzerland and Arend Van Rosmalen from Mynta Law in the Netherlands.

Our speakers certainly all had lots to say – it was a real challenge to keep to time – and we know that they’re all happy to answer more questions!

Our slides and notes from the Q&A are posted here for you; please let us know if you’d like to discuss this interesting topic some more!
