SINGAPORE – Upcoming New Housing Checks for Work Pass Holders

Effective 14 September 2018, the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in Singapore will check work pass applicants’ residential addresses when issuing passes.

When an employment agent issues a request to issue a work pass, MOM will only approve the request if the applicant’s address meets relevant housing requirements.

SINGAPORE – Changes to Foreign Workforce Policy Announced

The Ministry of Manpower has announced upcoming changes to its foreign workforce policy, including an expansion of the Fair Consideration Framework job advertising requirement for Employment Pass (EP) applications to include more companies and more positions, and an increase in the minimum salary requirement for S Pass holders.

SINGAPORE – Detailed Recruitment Questions Added to Employment Pass Application Form

Effective immediately, and without any official announcement, the Ministry of Manpower has added several questions to the Employment Pass (EP) online application form, requiring sponsoring employers to give additional, detailed information about their recruitment practices.

The changes may cause delays with applications which have not yet been submitted, as additional information on the recruitment process will need to be gathered.

Effective 18 December 2017, the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority will introduce an electronic-Permanent Residence (e-PR) application system, which will be mandatory for all Permanent Residence (PR) applications from that date.
