KUWAIT – Restrictions for Foreign National Engineers, and Diploma Holders Under 30 Years Old

Effective immediately, the Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) requires engineers applying to renew or transfer their residence permits to present a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from Kuwait Engineers Society (KES).

PAM has also issued the decision that, effective 1 July 2018, foreign nationals under the age of 30 will not be allowed to obtain a work permit in Kuwait if they hold a university degree (diploma, bachelor’s, master’s or PHD).

Effective by the end of October, Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior (MOI) authorities will begin requiring foreign nationals to submit their original university degrees when filing applications for renewal of their Iqama residency permits.

KUWAIT – New Rules Limit Residence of Dependent Family Members

Effective immediately, the Kuwaiti authorities have ceased issuing new residence permits (Iqamas) for sponsored dependent family members, other than spouses and children. Current dependent residence permit holders are allowed in some cases to renew their residence.
