Effective 21 January, the Home Office opened the voluntary public testing phase of the EU Settlement Scheme to resident EU citizens (and their EU citizen family members) with a valid passport and their non-EU citizen family members holding a valid biometric residence card.
Also on 21 January, the prime minister announced that the application fee (currently £65 for an adult and £32.50 for a child under 16) will be cancelled once the scheme is fully open and that anyone who has applied during testing will have their fee reimbursed.

Effective immediately, the Saudi Ministry of Labor has suspended the requirement for companies intending to hire foreign nationals to first advertise jobs on the Taqat jobs portal before applying for block visas (expatriate quota).
At the same time, the Ministry has announced a fast track visa service for companies who have a high Saudization rate to be able to obtain visas immediately, and has allowed companies in the medium green saudization category to apply for block visas provided that it does not lower the company’s Saudization category. This was previously restricted to the high green and platinum categories only.

The Argentine Immigration Department is introducing a major increase in the fees for most immigration-related processes. Effective 6 June 2018, various governments fees for immigration processes – such as Transitory, Temporary, and Permanent Residence applications, Entry Permit applications, renewal applications, and change of category applications – will increase an average of 300 percent, up to 500 percent for some applications.
