INDIA – Exit Clearance Requirement Now Extended to All Indian Nationals [Updated]

[UPDATE] Citing technical difficulties, the Ministry of External Affairs has issued a public notice suspending the below-described registration requirement until further notice. Non-ECR (Emigration clearance Required) Indian nationals travelling to one of the 18 notified countries listed below may still voluntarily register with the eMigrate portal before the technical problems are solved and the requirement is re-applied.

Effective immediately, all Indian nationals travelling to any of 18 “notified” countries for employment purposes are advised to register with the eMigrate portal of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) at least 24 hours prior to departure.

PHILIPPINES – Cancellation of Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card Requires Downgrading of Visa

Effective 29 June 2017, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) is now requiring an additional document in support of applications for conversion of a 9(a) tourist visa or a temporary visitor visa to a 9(g) Pre-arranged Employment Visa (Commercial).

PHILIPPINES – Cancellation of Alien Certificate of Registration Identity Card Requires Downgrading of Visa

The Bureau of Immigration has announced that, effective immediately, foreign nationals wishing to cancel their Alien Certificate of Registration I-Cards (ACR I-Cards) are first required to downgrade their visa to a 9(a) temporary visitor visa. Previously, the requirement to downgrade the visa to a 9(a) temporary visitor visa was not strictly enforced.
