SOUTH AFRICA – Update on Zimbabwe Exemption Permit (ZEP) Applications

On 31 January 2018, the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) extended to 15 February 2018 the closing date for payments and submission of supporting documents and biometrics for applications for the new Zimbabwean Exemption Permit (ZEP), at one of the ten designated Visa Application Centres.

This deadline had previously been extended to 31 January 2018. The extended deadline is not for new applications, which had to be submitted by 30 November 2017.

INDIA – Mandatory Biometric Enrolment for All India Visa Applicants in South Africa

INDIA – Aadhaar Card Required for Certain Foreign Residents

Effective 1 July 2017, foreign national residents who have stayed in India for more than 182 days in the previous 12 months and are therefore required to pay income tax in India, must obtain an Aadhaar ID card in order to submit their income tax return (ITR).

An ITR acknowledgement form is required in support of visa renewal applications.

Previously, a foreign national only required a PAN (Permanent Account Number) to submit their income tax return.

INDIA – Biometrics Scanning Now Required at Pune, Mumbai and Bangalore Foreigner Regional Registration Offices
