PERU – New Streamlined Change of Status Process

Effective 19 March 2018, a new, simplified process for applications for change of immigration status has been introduced, with in-person attendance at the immigration office, and an online application tracking system.

Previously, several more steps were required, and it was possible to authorize a third-party representative to submit the application at the immigration office.

PANAMA – Work Permit Applicants Must Attend Ministry of Labour in Person [UPDATED]

On 26 December 2017, the Ministry of Labour issued a decree requiring all work permit applicants to visit the Ministry in person for biometric registration before submitting any initial or renewal work permit application.

CÔTE D’IVOIRE – 1 February 2018 Deadline for Converting to New Biometric Residence Cards

Nationals of non-ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) countries holding temporary residence permit cards in Côte d’Ivoire (Ivory Coast) have until 1 February 2018 to exchange their old cards for a new biometric residence card (“Carte de Résident”).

All unconverted temporary residence permits will become invalid on 1 February 2018 – previously this deadline was set at 31 December 2017. After this date, any non-ECOWAS national resident in Côte d’Ivoire without a biometric resident card will be subject to a penalty.

UKRAINE – New Biometric Entry Procedures Introduced
